CYPRUS

At the end of 1969, B Squadron of the Royal Scots Greys was sent to join the United Nations peacekeeping mission in Cyprus. The regiment was deployed in its new Ferret armoured scout cars. The Greys were initially based between Larnaca and Limassol, before moving to the capital Nicosia. In June 1970, B Squadron was relieved by C Squadron who transferred to the island from Redford Cavalry Barracks in Edinburgh.
