The visit forms part of their induction and a key aspect is learning about the history of The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards and their antecedents. To support this they visited the Museum store, handling objects and archival material. From this they were shown how a soldier’s kit and weaponry has changed from the early years to the present day. For the NCOs that were leading the group they had the dubious privilege of seeing objects they have worn now being treated as museum artefacts - a reminder of long service! The new recruits also visited the Museum to see the famous Eagle and our new updated gallery with the recent SCOTS DG history.
We wish them all the best in their time with the Regiment.
