RETURN OF THE EAGLE

The eagle and standard captured by Sergeant Charles Ewart at the Battle of Waterloo were returned to the Royal Scots Greys in a ceremony at the Royal Hospital Chelsea on Waterloo Day in 1956. They were placed on display in the Scottish United Services Museum at Edinburgh Castle later that year.
